As the old year is about to usher in the new year, has the past year been what you expected or were you surprised?  The year in passing has been full of expectations and shock.  From the spreading of anthrax to shootings from a sniper’s gun. The coming of the Lord is soon.  I have heard that all my life and I want to be ready for His coming.  None of us know when He will appear to take His faithful children home with Him, but it could be today.  Are you ready? Maybe some of you have suffered through a death in the family or a death of a friend.  The loved ones who have been snatched away from us by death are resting in the earth.  And if they had a relationship with Jesus, they will hear the trumpet call of Jesus and the words “Awake, Awake, ye who sleep in the dust.”  And we who remain alive will be lifted up to meet Jesus in the air. Have you ever thought what you’ll first do when you see Jesus?  I have thought about this and I’ll probably fall prostrate on the ground and praise Him for coming and rescuing me.  First from sin and death and second from this world of hardships.  Praise His name forever, He is coming again. What will you do when you get to heaven?  There’s a mansion that has been prepared for you.  I can’t see us staying in our mansions very much since we will have the joy of walking with God.  There will be so much to do in heaven that it will take an eternity to do everything.  That’s mind boggling. I greatly enjoy eating a good nectarine.  I can just imagine a nectarine tree next to the mansion that God has prepared for me.  Bananas and tomatoes have been two of my least favorite foods since I was young.  I wonder if God will enhance my taste buds so that I will enjoy these foods.
