BIBLE TRUTH ABOUT DEATH
Remember what the Lord said to Adam and Eve about the consequences of eating from the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil:
“Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely
eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that
you eat of it you shall surely die.’” Genesis 2:15-17 *
“For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, and they have no more
reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy
have now perished; nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun”
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 *
The first medium which Satan used was the serpent in the Garden of Eden to deceive Adam
and Eve.
“And the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die. For God knows that in the
day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and
evil.’” Genesis 3:4,5 *
There’s a story that is recorded in the Bible when God’s prophet Samuel had died and Saul
was king. Saul would ask the Lord through Samuel what to do in times of need. But
because the Lord would not answer him, he made an unwise decision.
“When Saul saw the army of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by
Urim or by the prophets. Then Saul said to servants, ‘Find me a woman who is a medium,
that I may go to her and inquire of her.’ And his servants said to him, ‘In fact, there is a
woman who is a medium at En Dor.’ So Saul disguised himself and put on other clothes,
and he went, and two men with him; and they came to the woman by night. And he said,
‘Please conduct a seance for me, and bring up for me the one I shall name to you.’”
