WHO HAS THE POWER TO FORGIVE SINS
“Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation,
even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification
of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s
obedience many will be made righteous. Moreover the law entered that the offense might
abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death,
even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:18-21 *
“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice
the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to
forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned,
we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:6-10 *
“My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin. And if anyone sins. we
have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1 *
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that
He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.” 1 John 3:4,5 *
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all
points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15,16 *
“He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the
end of the ages, he has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is
appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear
the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from
sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:26-28 *
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to
condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16, 17 *
