GOD’S COMMANDMENTS VS.
CATHOLIC COMMANDMENTS
As you can see from the side by side comparison of each one of God’s 10 Commandments with
the corresponding 10 commandments which are in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the
Catholic Church has greatly demolished God’s holy law. It seems like they have “hen pecked”
each one of God’s commandments and added or replaced parts of each one in order to make them
fit into their “mold”. They have made the Sabbath Commandment the third commandment when
in reality it is the fourth commandment.
In the “Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine”, the Catholic Church admits to changing the
Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. They also state that they substituted Sunday for Saturday
because Christ rose from the dead on a Sunday and the Holy Ghost descended upon the Apostles
on a Sunday.
The Catholic church continues and claim that they substituted Sunday for Saturday by the divine
power which Jesus Christ bestowed upon her.
A person cannot be saved by keeping the 10 Commandments. The only way to be saved is
by having a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.
The answer to be saved in the kingdom of God is found in Acts16:30, 31. “And he brought
them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’”
If we believe in Jesus and we love Him, we should want to obey all ten of His commandments.
The fourth commandment shows that Jesus is the Creator of heaven and earth and everything that
was made. The Sabbath commemorates the finishing touch of God’s creation and by keeping the
seventh-day Sabbath we honor God.
